Wastewater System
Project Name: Treatment Plant Facilities – Various Projects
Includes project:
- Utoy Creek WRC Instrumentation/Control Reliability Restoration
The Primary Headhouse electrical and instrumentation systems at the Utoy Creek Water Reclamation Center (WRC) monitor and control the process equipment to treat wastewater. It has been determined that the equipment is outdated and no longer supported by the manufacturer. The goal of this project is to reduce the risk of failure due to a sewage spill or a safety hazard by replacing the equipment and providing the level of redundancy required to ensure that Utoy Creek WRC maintains its regulatory compliance.
The scope of this project includes:
- Replacing and upgrading electrical switchgear and power distribution equipment
- Replacing telemetry and process control system components
- Replacing Series 100 modules in primary
- Replacing input/output (I/O) panels
- Installing additional workstations in the administrative conference room & ultraviolet (UV) building control room
- Installing additional fibers
Justification:
- Replaces outdated and obsolete electrical and instrumentation and controls
- Reduces the risk of failure due to a sewage spill or a safety hazard
