Project Name: Peachtree Creek Trunk Sewer Stabilization
The Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES), required by the First Amended Decree (FACD), was designed to evaluate the condition of the City’s sanitary sewer collection and transmission system and carried out over eight years across six sewer groups. Peachtree Trunk, a 90- to 96-inch concrete line, was constructed in the late 1930s. This project is to stabilize the many longitudinal and circumferential cracks identified in the Peachtree Trunk to ensure structural integrity is retained under varying conditions while conveying sewage.
The scope of this project includes:
Cleaning the Woodward Way Siphon, located within the vicinity of Bobby Jones Golf Course
Cleaning 700 LF of 96″ pipe, 1,300 LF of90″ pipe and 1,800 LF of 66″ pipe
Installation of approximately 11,000linear feet (LF) of grouted PVC profile liner system, extending from Atlanta Memorial Park to the R. M. Clayton WRC
Justification:
Reduce inflow/infiltration from entering sewer and robbing needed capacity
Safeguards against future breaches and ensures public health and safety
Ensures long-term structural integrity of the 90″ diameter trunk sewer for 50+years
Addresses Consent Decree requirements
