Project Name: Chattahoochee WTP Compliance Improvements
Constructed in 1961-1962, the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located on Bolton Road Northwest, is a manually operated treatment plant and is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week and has a maximum capacity of 64.9 MGD. The Chattahoochee WTP is one of three water treatment plants in the City’s water treatment system and provides approximately 35% of drinking water for the City and parts of Fulton County.
The scope of this project includes:
- Sedimentation basin improvements
- Flocculator equipment replacement
- New belt press building
- Replacement of pumps and valves
- New electrical building and chemical building
- Improvements at Peachtree Pump Station
- Replacement of High Service Pump #1
- Filter #4 rehabilitation
Justification:
- Improves system reliability and efficiency
- Updates legacy equipment
- Improves system resiliency
