 New DWM Webpage Gives Access to Capital Projects at Your Fingertips

ATLANTA – Watershed Management’s five-year, $1 billion investment will upgrade a system that serves more than 1.2 million people each day.  Across Atlanta, capital improvement projects are planned to improve operational efficiency and reliability for the City’s water and wastewater facilities, upgrade water infrastructure, increase sewer capacity, reduce sanitary sewer overflows and ensure continued regulatory compliance.

Starting today, residents and business owners will be able to track projects that directly impact their communities with the launch of the new Capital Improvement Program (CIP) webpage.

“The CIP demonstrates Atlanta’s commitment to providing high-quality service delivery and environmental stewardship to our citizens.  Projects planned under the CIP, such as the Water Supply Program, will increase Atlanta’s water sustainability for next 100 years, a key goal of Mayor Kasim Reed,” says Commissioner Kishia L. Powell.  “Because of this tremendous investment in our City’s future, it is critical that we are transparent in the use of our funding while helping the public to understand which projects will directly affect their daily lives.”

Housed on the Atlantawatershed.org website, the new CIP page will allow the public to view updated project information, determine Council information and download reports.  The new webpage also features an interactive map to show the public active projects that are in their vicinity.
