Project Name: Clear Creek West Green/Grey Infrastructure Initiative

This project will help address combined sewer capacity issues in the Clear Creek West Combined Sewer Basin of the City of Atlanta. The area drains a portion of the federal Interstate Highway system in downtown Atlanta, Grady Hospital, Georgia State University, Georgia Power Company, GDOT right of way, COA Civic Center, and City Scape Apartment complex.
Phase I Scope Includes:
The construction of a 4MG combined sewer vault located at the Atlanta Civic Center.
Phase II Scope Includes:
The construction of a 0.9MG stormwater vault on the property of the AHA at Linden Avenue and Central Park Place and approximately 0.9MG of green infrastructure elements including but limited to a combination of bioretention and permeable pavers along City streets.
Justification:
- Improves reliability of combined sewer system
- Reduces up to one million gallons of storm water runoff
- Enhances aesthetic appearance in neighborhoods
- Reduces flooding potential
